Madrid, April 3, 2024.- The Government delegate, Francisco Martín Aguirre, visited today the town of Torrelaguna, where he held a meeting with several mayors of the area and learned details about the Tourism Sustainability Plan of the municipality, to which the Government of Spain allocates 357,684 euros.
These funds will be used for the creation of new tourism products, with their own identity and applying the use of new technologies to expand the offer and favor the seasonalization of visits. Among them, they highlight: the cycling route of the Mendocino Way, the trips of the water —original elements of the supply to the town dating from the 16th century—, and the heraldic itinerary through its streets.
The aim of the plan is to advance the transformation of tourist destinations towards a new model based on environmental, socio-economic and territorial sustainability.
Visit by municipality
Francisco Martín has held a meeting with several mayors of the area at the beginning of his visit: the mayor of Torrelaguna, Víctor José Gutiérrez; the mayor of Torremocha, Carlos Rivera Rivera; the mayor of El Berrueco, Jaime Sanz Lozano; the mayor of Patones, Luis Arriazu García; the mayor of Redueña, María de las Mercedes Pérez González, and the mayor of Venturada, Carolina Folgueira Flores. They have been joined by the head of the Civil Guard Command of Madrid, Colonel Diego Pérez de los Cobos.
The government delegate visited with the colonel the post of the Torrelaguna Civil Guard, which serves, in addition to this town, the municipalities of La Cabrera, Redueña, Venturada, Patones, Cabanillas de la Sierra, El Berrueco and Torremocha del Jarama.
Francisco Martín has also visited the building that serves as the headquarters of the Mancomunidad de Servicios Sociales, owned by the Ministry of Labor and currently ceded to the consistory.
Finally, Francisco Martín wanted to know the supermarket where, at the age of 92, Francisca Lozano still works today, one of the winners in the First Edition of the Awards “8M, 8 Women, 8 Reasons”, organized by the Government Delegation on the occasion of the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Viogén system and “The administration near you”
The government delegate took advantage of the meeting with the mayors of the area to offer them the incorporation of their municipalities to the Viogén System of Integral Protection of Women Victims of Gender Violence, as well as their adherence to the program “The Administration near you”, to which currently only Torrelaguna is attached.
DUS 5000 renewable energy installation program.
Two of the localities in the region, namely El Berrueco and Redueña, are part of those included in the DUS 5000 Program, a Government Aid Program for investments in local clean energy projects in municipalities of less than five thousand inhabitants.
The Berrueco will receive more than eight hundred thousand euros for the renewal of public lighting in the municipality and the improvement of sustainable mobility, both in the locality and in the Atazar Reservoir.
Redueña will receive 58,236 euros to invest in renewable electricity generation facilities.
