The Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid announces the itineraries planned for the development of the agrarian demonstration that will take place next Monday, February 26, with mobilizations of tractors that will access the capital from Arganda del Rey to the headquarters of the European Parliament in Madrid.
The objective is to provide the citizens with information on the traffic effects that can be registered during the morning of Monday in order to guarantee the coexistence between the right of assembly and demonstration with that of road safety and citizen.
Manifestation Tour
From 9 a.m. it is planned that a total of 100 tractors will move from the Madrid town of Arganda del Rey to the Ministry of Agriculture in the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V.
Once the tractors arrive, they will pass in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and after them the demonstrators will join on foot. Then they will run along the Paseo del Prado (lanes of the south-north sense) and along the Paseo de Recoletos and the Paseo de la Castellana (central lanes of the south-north sense) until number 46 of the Paseo de la Castellana, Office in Spain of the European Parliament, where a rally will be held and the demonstration will be concluded, with an approximate time of 15h.
The tractors will return to Arganda del Rey using the same routes through which they entered the city of Madrid, making the exception of turning in the Plaza de Cibeles towards Calle Alcalá and returning to O’Donnell Street to leave Madrid, accompanied by the Municipal Police of Madrid and the Civil Guard.
Called by the agricultural unions ASAJA, COAG-IR and UPA, the march will begin its route in the Old Bridge of Arganda del Rey, to continue on M-208, M-203, Calle Pirotécnica, Calle Aurora Boreal, Avda de la Democracia, Plaza Alonso, Calle Casalarreina, Avda de Daroca, M-23, Calle O´Donnell, Calle Menéndez Pelayo, Paseo de la Infanta Isabel and Ministry of Agriculture.
From the Delegation, this information will be transferred to the Community of Madrid, the Madrid Federation of Municipalities and the City Councils of the region through which the demonstration takes place in some of its itineraries, with the aim of ensuring adequate coordination and that all administrations keep the citizens informed.
Due to the long-term impact of various urban roads and entry to Madrid, the preferred use of public transport is recommended.
