The City Council of Guadalix de la Sierra signed that morning the accession of its Local Police to the “Protocol of Collaboration and Coordination between the State Security Forces and the Local Police Forces for the protection of victims of domestic and gender violence”, necessary for its integration into the VioGén System of comprehensive follow-up of cases of gender violence.
It has been in the course of the Local Security Board of the municipality, co-chaired by the government delegate, Francisco Martín, and the mayor Borja Álvarez. In this way, a decisive step is taken in the incorporation procedure promoted by the City Council and the Government Delegation itself, with the aim of getting all the localities of the region that has local police to join this system.
Signature also of the Operating Protocol
The meeting also signed the “Operational Procedure of Coordination and Collaboration between the Command of the Civil Guard of Madrid and the City of Guadalix de la Sierra, of integral response against gender violence”. Under this agreement, the Local Police of Guadalix de la Sierra will share the data that the Civil Guard has on cases of gender violence in the municipality and will participate in its follow-up for a more effective protection of victims suffering from gender violence.
There are 33 municipalities in Madrid in VioGén and 4 in the process of incorporation
Four municipalities in the Community of Madrid are in the process of integrating their Local Police into the VioGén system of comprehensive follow-up of cases of gender violence: Rivas Vaciamadrid, Collado-Villalba, Manzanares el Real and now, Guadalix de la Sierra.
The 33 fully adhered municipalities are: Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Aranjuez, Arganda del Rey, Boadilla del Monte, Brunete, Colmenar Viejo, Daganzo de Arriba, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Leganés, Madrid, Majadahonda, Moralzarzal, Móstoles, Parla, Pinto, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Las Rozas de Madrid, San Agustín de Guadalix, San Martin de Valdeiglesias, San Antonio
The Government Delegation is currently holding talks with several municipalities to have their local police officers renew or integrate this system to combat gender violence.
