- Journalist Carme Chaparro also stars in tonight’s video of the campaign “Committed against Gender Violence”
The City Council of Coslada, the Women's Area of the Movement for Peace or the journalist Carme Chaparro are among the winners of the Meninas 2023 recognition by the Government Delegation in Madrid for being people or institutions that have stood out in their commitment to the defense of women's rights and the fight against gender violence.
All of them will receive their distinctions at the event to be held on 29 November at the headquarters of the Delegation on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated every 25 November.
In this VI edition of the Meninas, the recognitions of the Government Delegation in Madrid have been for the following institutions and people:
- National Police. Family and Women Unit of the local police station of Torrejón de Ardoz of the JSP of Madrid. For his research work, as well as for his involvement in the follow-up, accompaniment, advice and protection of victims of gender violence in the municipality.
- Civil Guard. Criminal Behavior Analysis Team (EACD), created in the Madrid Command in 2016, whose members have extensive experience in the Women, Minors and Homicide Team and with the main mission of supporting the groups specialized in the investigation. His work is also focused on the study of the psychology of the offender, in the study of the behavior of the victims, especially in the case of minors and people with intellectual disabilities who have suffered sexual assaults.
- Department of Equality and Diversity of the City of Coslada. They carry out activities aimed at promoting equal opportunities between women and men and raising awareness and preventing gender violence. The IV Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men of Coslada (2019 -2023) is articulated around four main strategic lines. Its line number 2 corresponds to “Coslada free of Male Violence”. Highlight the realization of the “Survey on the perception of gender violence in the municipality of Coslada” (March 2023), in order to know in depth the reality we face to adopt the most effective measures that allow us to move towards an egalitarian, free and responsible society.
- Dr. Irmina Saldaña Alonso. Family doctor and community health. She is passionate about women’s health, the fight against gender violence, diversity with a gender perspective and the construction of a fairer and more egalitarian world. Lecturer in Gender Violence courses at SERMAS.
- Women's Area of the Movement for Peace, serves women who have suffered Gender Violence, social counseling, legal and psychological care.
- Carme Chaparro: Spanish journalist, presenter and writer. Degree in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1996). Recognized in her feminist career with several awards, among others, that of the Observatory against Domestic and Gender Violence of the General Council of the Judiciary, in 2018. She will also be one of the protagonists of the “Committed Against Gender Violence” campaign, launched by the Government Delegation to publicise stories of commitment against violence of género.El content of this campaign can be followed by the profiles that the Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid has in the different social networks, which are the following:
