· The XX awards ceremony on the occasion of the 25N will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21, in the Assembly Hall of the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030
The Ministry of Equality, through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, will celebrate tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21, the institutional act of handing over the XX recognitions on the occasion of the 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
These awards are given to people, projects and institutions, which, during the year 2023, have been recognized for their work in different areas in the fight against male violence.
The presentation will take place this coming Tuesday, November 21 at 5.30 p.m., in an institutional event held in the Assembly Hall of the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, presented by the presenters of Deforme Semana, Isa Calderón and Lucía Lijtmaer.
Recognized individuals and institutions are as follows:
- The “I do believe you Platform” made up of protective mothers, in the category of social movement in defense of equality and against gender violence.
- Violeta Molina Gallardo, a journalist from Cádiz specialized in feminism, equality and male violence, in the category information with a gender focus.
- Loueila Sid Ahmed Ndiaye, Saharawi resident in the Canary Islands and lawyer in the field of migration and foreigners, in the category feminist activism.
- Vicky Luengo and Juan Carlos Fisher for their play Prima Facie on consent, sexual violence and the judicial system, in the category culture against gender violence.
- The University of Malaga for its campaign “Don’t leave it in sight” against male violence and in favor of equality, in the category education for equality and against gender violence.
- The Violence Units and Coordination Units against violence against women, for their work of extraordinary value in the fight against gender violence, in the category institutional response against gender violence.
- Elsa Granados, coordinator of one of the first 24 h crisis centers in the world in Santa Barbara, USA, for providing a comprehensive response through research and intervention to sexual violence and inspiring the work of the future 24 h crisis centers in Spain, in the category research for social transformation and against gender violence.
- The Prison Psychologists Collective, for its exceptional work in the fight for the eradication of gender violence through therapeutic intervention with men convicted of violence against women, in the category work with men against gender violence.
- Women’s Studies Center, for the defense of the human rights of Palestinian women, and for combating gender violence and sexual violence in the most difficult circumstances, in the category commitment for equality and against gender violence outside our borders
- Nevenka Fernández García, in the category resilience.
- Álvaro García Ortiz, Attorney General of the State, in the category feminist justice
- The Spanish women’s soccer team, champions of the 2023 World Cup, for their commitment against sexual violence and abuse of power, in the category sensitization and awareness against gender violence.
