The Government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has today toured several of the workshops of one of the training centers of the Madrid Construction Labor Foundation in which the preparation of the personnel of the sector is promoted to contribute to its sustainability and competitiveness.
This is one of the 50 centres of the platform, created in 1992 to work on the prevention of occupational risks, training, employment, innovation, sustainability and new technologies in the field of construction.
Accompanied by the director of the Foundation, Francisco Ruano, Francisco Martín has verified how the students carry out practices of electricity, welding or with work machinery of an offer composed of more than 200 training actions, and which has the collaboration of more than 1,400 teachers throughout Spain.
Through these training actions, the Foundation seeks to promote the employability and professionalization of construction professionals and attract new working people to the sector to enhance the competitiveness of companies.
About the Construction Labor Foundation
The Construction Labor Foundation wants to provide companies and workers with the resources that make possible a more professional, safe, trained and forward-looking sector.
This is the purpose for which, in the early 90s, the National Confederation of Construction (CNC), CCOO del Habitat, and the Federation of Industry, Construction and Agriculture of UGT (UGT FICA) joined, forming this joint non-profit entity, which has 17 Territorial Councils distributed throughout Spain.
As a reference within the field of construction, it works for and for the future of companies and professionals and, together with its commitment to training, promotes the elaboration and constant updating of more than 140 manuals of its own on different subjects of the sector.
It also has specialized employment services in 9 Territorial Councils and operates as a Placement Agency approved by the Public Employment Service in 32 training centers.
Annually, career guidance professionals serve more than 12,000 people. In addition, it has an employment portal construyendoempleo.com available to workers and companies in the sector.
