The Government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, participated this afternoon in the ceremony for the delivery of Diplomas to lawyers with more than 25 years, 50 years or 60 years of collegiation in the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Madrid (ICAM).
The ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Madrid City Council, was also attended by the Dean of the Madrid Bar Association, Eugenio Ribón, the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, the Councillor for Presidency, Justice and Local Administration of the Community, Miguel Ángel García Martín, the President of the Provincial High Court, Juan Pablo González, and the Superior Prosecutor of the Community of Madrid, Almudena Lastra, in addition to the members of the ICAM Board of Government.
Medals and decorations
In addition to the Diplomas and Badges of Silver (for 25 years of collegiation) and Gold (for 50 years of collegiation) and the commemorative plaques to lawyers with 60 years of collegiation, Medals of Honor have been given to the president of the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court, Manuel Marchena Gómez, and to the lawyer Ignacio Valentín-Gamazo (who died in 1996 when he was defending a young cashier from a grocery store when she was robbed at gunpoint). Pedro Lescure Ceñal, currently director of ICAM’s Legal Services Department, has also been awarded the Medal of Honorary College.
