The Government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, attended today the inauguration of the Building III “The Third” of the General Directorate of the Civil Guard, in Madrid, in which outstanding rehabilitation work has been carried out.
The acting Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has been in charge of cutting the inaugural ribbon and discovering the commemorative plaque of the works that has been located in the entrance hall to the building. The General Director of the Civil Guard, Leonardo Marcos, was also present at the event, along with other authorities.
All of them have been able to verify the results of the interventions carried out by the public company Sociedad de Infrastructures y Equipamiento Penitentiaries y de la Seguridad del Estado (SIEPSE) in the building, in which an integral rehabilitation has been carried out to combine respect for the exterior image and the essential elements of the façade with the creation inside modern and functional offices, with clear and flexible spaces that are appropriate to the needs of the staff. Likewise, the energy efficiency of the construction has been improved and the access sidewalks have been expanded.
These actions are part of the State Security Infrastructure Plan 2019-2025, which has provided a strong impetus for the improvement of existing facilities and the creation of new ones in practically the entire national geography.
