The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, held a meeting in the Delegation this morning with Lieutenant Colonel Alberto Modino, head of the First Emergency Intervention Battalion of the UME, to address the “UMÉdula” campaign.
This is a campaign that has been developed by the Military Emergency Unit at the national level for several years to support and promote bone marrow donation among the members of the different units of the EMU, on the occasion of the World Bone Marrow Donor Day that is celebrated on September 16.
Particularly in Madrid, an event will be held on the esplanade of the Hospital La Paz, in collaboration with the National Transplant Center and the Transfusion Center of the Community of Madrid, which will serve as a demand and facilitate the recruitment of new donors. During the previous campaigns, more than 150 potential donors have been registered.
