The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has co-chaired, together with the mayor of Alcorcón, Candelaria Testa, the Local Security Board of the municipality in which the security plan has been revised for the town’s patron saint’s festivities, which will be held in early September.
After learning first-hand about the measures that will be implemented, how to act in the face of threats, evacuation routes, and in general, the relevant information that both the National Police and the Local Police handle in this regard, he has been convinced that the patron saint’s festivities will develop “in all normality and will be a success”.
The government delegate also thanked the “very good” coordination that exists between the Local Police of Alcorcón and the National Police and their professionalism, important to make the neighbors “feel that they are safe and sheltered, and to enjoy the festivities freely”.
Regarding the crime data for the first quarter of the year, he pointed out the decrease recorded in the municipality “in a context of stability with respect to the same period of 2022”.
Likewise, he has valued “very positively” the effort of the City Council for the implementation of a specific protocol to prevent and care for women who may suffer aggression during the holidays. “It’s an example that should be expanded to other locations,” he added.
