The government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, met this morning with Valeria Camporesi, director of Filmoteca Española, at the Cine Doré, the Filmoteca’s headquarters. The Cine Doré has a wide cinematographic programming and develops a multitude of activities to disseminate the Spanish cinematographic heritage, and about cinema in general, through the Filmoteca.
Among these activities, the recovery, since last Saturday day 1, of the outdoor summer room of the Cine Doré, after having remained closed for seven years, stands out. After the refurbishment of the room, to improve the quality and comfort of the projections, the night sessions return during the months of July and August, from Tuesday to Saturday at 22:15 hours.
For these sessions, the Filmoteca Española has prepared a program with great titles of the history of cinema, distributed by genres, one for each day of the week: dramas, action and adventure cinema, thriller, horror and comedy and musicals. In addition, the programming is completed with the cycle “Urban summers”, about various stories of estío that happen in the city, which will also be programmed in room 1 of the Cine Doré.
Francisco Martín recalled that Cine Doré, like many other cultural agents, is included in the youth cultural voucher, so that from last week and until September 30, young people born in 2005 can apply on the web www.bonoculturajoven.com.es This bonus of 400 euros to enjoy a diverse cultural offer .
The Spanish Film Library is the body responsible for the preservation of the Spanish cinematographic heritage under the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) and Cine Doré has been its headquarters for cinematographic projections since 1989. The construction of the unique building that houses the East Cinema dates from 1912 and its characteristic modernist façade, from 1923.
