The government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, visited today the headquarters of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC).
Together with the director of the center, Eloisa del Pino, she has toured the facilities and met several of the laboratories and research projects that are developed in them, to end with a stop in the scientific dissemination initiative Science in the Neighborhood, whose objective is to bring science to the neighborhoods and students. Its stands carry out activities on various current scientific topics: experimental workshops, conferences, reading clubs, exhibitions and guided visits to CSIC research centers.
The CSIC is the largest public institution in Spain dedicated to scientific and technical research and one of the most outstanding in the European Research Area. It is an autonomous Public Research Agency, of a multisectoral and multidisciplinary nature, with its own legal personality and heritage, with implementation throughout Spain and international projection. Its mission is the promotion, coordination, development and dissemination of scientific and technological research, of a multidisciplinary nature, in order to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and economic, social and cultural development, as well as to the training of personnel and advice to public and private entities in these matters.
