The Government Delegation in Madrid will activate a security device composed of more than 1700 troops for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg, which will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12, by Real Madrid and Chelsea, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, starting at 9:00 p.m. This meeting has been classified as ‘high-risk’ by the Anti-Violence Commission.
The operation, which will be responsible for monitoring the areas surrounding the stadium to prevent incidents, will be made up of agents of the National Police – coming from the Police Intervention Unit, the Special Cavalry Unit and the Provincial Information Brigade – of the Municipal Police of Madrid, components of the SAMUR-Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade, members of the Red Cross, and security guards and assistants of the football club itself.
The Madrid team expects more than 63,000 people to come to the stadium to witness this meeting, including some 1800 fans of the English club.
To expedite the work of the agents, it is recommended that all of them come in advance to pass the established security controls.
