The delegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Mercedes González, has participated today in the act of jura or promise and delivery of professional titles of the 29th promotion of promotion to the category of chief inspectors of the National Police, presided over by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
The promotion is composed of 168 students of the National Police (134 men and 34 women) and 6 Senior Inspectors of the Police of the Principality of Andorra, whose Director of the Police has also attended, together with the Spanish police leadership headed by the Director-General of the Police, Francisco Pardo Piqueras, and the deputy operational director, José Ángel González Jiménez.
“As public servants, you assume the responsibility of protecting and guaranteeing the rights and freedoms and security of the Spanish, which is the reward of the hard and long road you have managed to travel,” said Grande-Marlaska during his speech. “Never before, in your almost bicentennial history, this Corps had counted as many troops as now, more than 70,000, better equipped, with better infrastructures and with a training of excellence,” said the minister.
The event, held at the headquarters of the Division of Training and Improvement, in Madrid (Plaza de Carabanchel 5), has concluded with the act of tribute to the national police officers who died in the act of service and the interpretation of the anthem of the National Police.
