The delegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Mercedes González, attended today the meeting convened by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda with the Community of Madrid to address the works of improvement of the services of Neighbourhoods in the region and the plans to minimize the affectations of the works in the railway services.
Minister Raquel Sánchez has explained to the Minister of Transport, David Pérez, the Proximity Plan already launched in the Community of Madrid to modernize and expand the infrastructure and fleet, where 40% of the total budget of 6.5 billion (1.5 billion more than the previous government planned) is already mobilized.
He has highlighted that they have already executed and finalized investments for 1000 million euros to improve the service, such as the renovation of the Chamartín-Recoletos-Atocha tunnel and the Getafe tunnel or the improvement of accessibility in Vicálvaro, and the work to transform Madrid’s mobility with the development of the transversal axis, a new infrastructure to connect the Northwest and Southwest corridor.
