According to the Crime Balance for the period between January and September 2025, the crime rate stood at 36.8 criminal offenses per thousand inhabitants in La Rioja, below the Spanish average of 50.9. Thus, the region remains at the same rate as at the end of 2024 and continues as the fourth safest autonomous community in the country.
This Crime Report, published on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, shows the evolution of criminal offences registered by the National Police and Civil Guard in La Rioja.
In the first nine months of 2025, the State Security Forces and Corps became aware of 9,019 criminal offences in La Rioja. According to the breakdown according to the type of crime, while the conventional one has decreased by –6.4% with respect to the same period of the previous year (January-September 2024: 7,315 known criminal offenses; January-September 2025: 6.844), the sharp increase in cybercrime is significant once again, with a variation of +27.2% (January-September 2024: 1,710 criminal offenses committed in/through Cyber; January-September 2025: 2.175).
Thus, as in the first and second quarters of this year, the increase in cybercrime has had a direct impact on data on the crime rate in the autonomous community.
As for the subtractions in agricultural or livestock farms, there has been a substantial decrease in the first nine months of the year in La Rioja: 118 January to September 2024 and 81 in this same period of this year.
On the other hand, the percentage of clarified criminal offenses in this period was 43.8% compared to 42.1% at the end of 2024. In addition, the rate of arrests and investigations for every 1,000 criminal offenses was 301, which is 10 points more than in 2024.

Logroño and Calsalvo
This Crime Balance provides a collection of data on criminal offenses registered in localities with a population of over 20,000 inhabitants.
With regard to the crime data recorded in the Rioja capital, the crime rate rises to 38.7, higher than that recorded at the end of 2024 (37).
During the first nine months, Logroño recorded a -2.2% conventional crime rate compared to the same period of 2024 (3,300 crimes in 2024 and 3,227 in 2025).
Faced with this slight negative variation, cybercrime increased considerably at the end of the third quarter, by 38.9%: 845 criminal offenses committed in/through CYBER from January to September 2024 to 1,174 in 2025.
For its part, it highlights that the crime rate in Calahorsa has fallen by one more quarter, which implies a positive evolution in this town of La Rioja Baja; at the end of 2024, it stood at 54.8, going to 50.9 in March 2025, 48.9 at the end of June and now, at the end of September, 48.3.
In Calahorsa, if we compare until September 2025 and the previous one, conventional crime has fallen by 18.4% (966 at the end of September 2024 compared to 778 in 2025). On the contrary, cybercrime has increased by 10.9%, 137 crimes committed in/by cyber from January to September 2024 compared to 152 in this same period during this year.
