Among the activities organized within the Open Administration Week, the Government delegate in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, visited Ribafrecha together with the mayor of this town, Óscar González, to learn about the development of the session planned in this municipality of ‘The Administration near IT’, aimed at neighbors to increase their digital autonomy and facilitate the realization of actions in the AGE.
The Delegation of the Government of Spain in La Rioja celebrates, from May 19 to 25, the Week of Open Administration, with the main objective of bringing Public Administrations closer to the citizens, based on the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration.
As the delegate recalled, “the Plan ‘The Administration near you’ responds to the firm commitment of the Government of Spain to guarantee the equality of citizens in access to public services from any point of our territory.”
In this way, ‘The Administration near you’ wants to cover the services most demanded by citizens, within the framework of a collaboration protocol that allows each agency to recognize itself and feel part of this service.
According to Arraiz Nalda, in La Rioja, since the beginning of the Plan ‘The Administration near you’ in November 2022, the General Administration of the State has served 2,700 people in the autonomous community. At the moment, officials of the General Administration of the State move to 36 municipalities in Rioja, 5 of them at the request of the needs of the residents of that locality.
“We promote that people living in municipalities with a smaller population receive the same public services,” he said. In this sense, he has specified that "The Administration near you" becomes a fundamental tool to improve the quality of life of citizens in rural areas. "This project not only brings administrative services closer, but also encourages local development and citizen participation," he said.
Arraiz Nalda also thanked the public employees for their work, "especially those who make it possible for all public services to be available in all villages."
For his part, the mayor of Ribafrecha, Óscar González, has valued the effort of the Government of Spain to get closer to the neighbors that reside outside Logroño. “Those of us who live in smaller municipalities value positively this program that seeks to guarantee equal access to public administration,” he added.
Services provided in ‘The Administration near you’
Agencies such as the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), the National Social Security Institute (INSS) or the General Directorate of Traffic have already joined the sessions of ‘The Administration near you’.
Through the ‘The Administration near you’ initiative, public employees of the Government Delegation in La Rioja move to different locations in Rioja to provide and manage procedures related to the public services of the General Administration of the State, without having to travel to Logroño.
Among other services, they report on the advantages of the Citizens’ File and make it easier for citizens to obtain the means of identification and digital signature -electronic certificate and cl@ve system-, which make it possible to make effective the right of access to public services in any point of the territory without having to travel to the capitals.
Likewise, they assist the residents of the municipalities of La Rioja to process in situ their requests on the services provided by the Delegation and provide personalized information on the administrative services most requested in the electronic offices of other agencies, such as Social Security procedures, Cadastre, SEPE, DGT, IMSERSO travel requests…
Assistance is also provided in the area of gender violence, information on vaccination is provided on international trips, the simulation of retirement is carried out or assistance is provided to carry out some personalized procedures for the assistants.
