The Council of Ministers approved on Thursday, at the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, the redistribution of 13,332,000 euros between five autonomous communities for the creation of 1,200 new public and free places from 0 to 3 years.
These funds will be distributed among the communities of Aragón, Illes Balears, Canarias, Comunitat Valenciana and La Rioja within the territorial cooperation program to promote schooling in the first cycle of Early Childhood Education that is part of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
In total for La Rioja, 244,420 euros are invested for the creation of 22 new public and free places from 0 to 3 years.
For the Government and for this Ministry, the promotion of 0 to 3 years of schooling is a priority, since this stage has an impact on improving the results and performance of boys and girls. It also contributes to equal opportunities, educational equity and family reconciliation.
Therefore, since 2021, the autonomous communities have received more than 670 million euros for the creation of 65,000 places in this educational stage.
The approved redistribution corresponds to the slightly more than 112 million euros reintegrated by the Junta de Andalucía, which of the 12,069 places for which it received funding only plans to create 1,040. The funds not executed by this community were reintegrated and part of them, 32.2 million, were already redistributed at the beginning of September among various communities that requested them for the creation of 2,900 new places.
