The Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard in La Rioja has twelve new motorcycles for the control of roads in the Autonomous Community. The presentation ceremony, which took place this morning in the 10th Zone of the Civil Guard in La Rioja, was attended by the delegate of the Government in this community, Beatriz Arraiz; the provincial head of Traffic, Beatriz Zuñiga, the Interim Chief Colonel of the Zone, Enrique Moure and the Chief Sector Commander, Sergio Bueno Cepedo.
These twelve motorcycles that the General Directorate of Traffic has acquired to renew the fleet of the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard in La Rioja, are equipped with the latest technology in safety and operation and will incorporate mobile alcohol and drug detectors, along with portable radars for dynamic speed control.
The new ones represent a bet on the part of the DGT to provide the agents with the best available means to fight in favor of road safety, designed to improve the accident data, which so far this year shows, in interurban roads of La Rioja, the balance of 10 fatalities compared to the 10 that were recorded last year.
Motorcycle characteristics
The BMW R 1250 RT is a state-of-the-art model that incorporates all the elements of safety and comfort, to which have been added the specifications required by the General Directorate of Traffic to perform the tasks to which they are going to be destined.
We highlight the new motorcycles that are presented today, their high visibility colors, with fluorescent yellow reflectors, thus adapting to the new European regulations that recommend their use in police vehicles and LED lights, they have a greater capacity and power than those that come to replace, their design allows to transport the necessary equipment to perform alcohol, drug and speed controls, also allowing to store the helmet in the suitcase and carry a flashlight with its charger.
They have greater security measures, both active and passive, making the Traffic Group of Spain currently the best equipped in this regard in the European Union.
