The Board of Directors of the state-owned commercial company Aguas de las Cuencas de España (ACUAES), of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, at its meeting today awarded 403,275 euros for the contract of technical assistance services to the optional directorate in the supervision and control of the execution, the coordination of safety and health and the environmental supervision and control of the works of the emissary of the Bajo Iregua, in La Rioja.
Up to a total of 7 companies have submitted bids, being finally selected the bidder CONURMA INGENIERÍA CONSULTORES, S.L., for an execution period of 19 months.
The works, awarded for 13.9 million euros by the ACUAES Board of Directors meeting on May 25, are aimed at improving the current sanitation system and solving the pollution problems of the Iregua River.
To do this, a 17-kilometre-long emissary will be built, from Nalda to the Logroño treatment plant, and a 700-metre branch, allowing the discharges of the nuclei of the lower basin of the Iregua - Villamediana, Alberite, Albelda, Nalda and Lardero- to be led to the Logroño treatment plant for its correct treatment.
The project is completed with the execution of five storm tanks in each of the connecting branches of the different municipalities, which will collect the excess flow that occurs during the first rainy episode to store them until the moment they can be incorporated into the general purification system. Under the agreement signed on March 22, 2022 between ACUAES and the Consortium of Waters and Waste of La Rioja, the works will be cofinanced at 80% with Next Generation EU funds.
