The delegate of the Government in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, accompanied by the general director of Infrastructures of La Rioja, Vicente Urquia Almazán, visited this morning the progress of the works of the A-12 Motorway of the Camino de Santiago between Santo Domingo de la Calzada (La Rioja) and Villamayor del Río (Burgos).
Arraiz Nalda has specified that it was reached at the end of February that the degree of execution of this stretch of the A-12 is 46.9%. In this way, the total budget of the project amounts to 84.28 million euros, of which the certified work is 39.5 million euros.
In addition, the annuality forecast for this year is 26.87 million euros, with a certification as of February 28 of 8.7 million euros, 32.44%.
According to these data of execution of the A-12, the delegate has said that "we are before a priority action for the Government of Spain and another example of its commitment to the infrastructures of La Rioja, as is also the case with the Southern Round".
In this regard, with regard to the A-68 motorway, in the Arrúbal-Navarrete section, the one known as Ronda Sur, the delegate has detailed that at the end of February, the works had a degree of progress of 36.06% and certified work of 47.97 million euros on a total budget amounting to 133 million euros.
The annuality corresponding to 2023 is 28.8 million euros and until the end of February, compliance with it was 4.35% (1.31 million euros).
“Both the A-12 and the Southern Round are making steady progress, a demonstration of the clear commitment of the Government of Spain to improve the infrastructure of La Rioja and the connections with other autonomous communities,” explained the delegate.
Current status of A-12 works
With regard to the works that are being carried out on the A-12 motorway, on the Camino de Santiago, on the stretch between Santo Domingo de la Calzada and Villamayor del Río, the works that are being developed are:
Land Movement: Cleared and excavated the plant soil in the entire trace. In the initial section of the work, in the first 2.5 kilometers, including the branches of link 1 in Santo Domingo de la Calzada, the duplication of the road on the trunk and the service roads of the area, the works of extension of embankments and the first layer of soil selected that forms the esplanade have been completed. The execution of the second layer consisting of the stabilization with cement of 30cm of selected soil will begin.
In addition, excavation has already begun on the other dismounts and the materials have been used to execute the rest of the embankments.
In the final section of the work, it has proceeded to stabilize with lime.
In the next few days it is planned to finish the work of execution of the firm of Axis 33, belonging to link 2 in Grañón. This axis will serve as a temporary detour to traffic while all the work necessary for the construction of this link is carried out, including the demolition of the current lower pass under the N-120 road and the construction of the new upper pass on the future motorway.
Drainage : Numerous drainage works have been executed both transversal and longitudinal.
Structures: The three viaducts on the rivers Villar Medio, Reláchigo and San Julián have been executed.
Two upper steps and five lower steps are completed in their entirety. At this time, another three upper steps are being executed and in the coming weeks it is planned to begin the execution of the last pending lower step, located at the link of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, for which it will be necessary to carry out the temporary cut of the LR-201 road.
Affected services: Numerous restorations of affected services have been carried out for telephone lines, as well as for supply, irrigation, irrigation and sanitation.
Works of archaeology: They are fully completed.
Works in the South Round
On the other hand, in terms of the current state of the works of the Southern Round, the current blocks are located in the sections corresponding to connection 1, links of Arrúbal, LR-250 in Villamediana, N-111 in Lardero, and connection section 2 and link A-12/Variant of Fuenmayor.
Earthmoving:
• Connection 1, Arrúbal link and Lardero link N-111: the excavation of the saneo, the execution of the draining mantle with non-fine bolus type material, in those areas where the terrain has insufficient bearing capacity and the protection of escollera up to flood level where it is necessary, is in execution at different degrees of advance.
• Connection 2: In different degrees of execution the movements of lands of the different branches of the connection.
• Link A-12/Fuenmayor Variant
• Complete the movement of land in general of the replacement of the N-120 and in different degrees of advance in the rest of the link.
• Completed and in service the Camino de Santiago CA 28.3.
Firm: Executed in the replacement of the Camino de Santiago, being already in service, and in the axes associated to the replacement of the N-120, as well as in branches 5 and 6 of the link A-12/Var. It was bigger.
Structures:
• Two upper steps and four lower steps are completed, and the extension of an existing upper step has been executed.
• There are eight upper passes in execution throughout the work, with varying degrees of advance, and the prefabricated frames of the LR-250 lower pass have been placed in Villamediana and another existing lower pass has been demolished, which is to be replaced.
• The crawling of the upper three-step boards on the current AP-68 motorway has been completed and preparations for the upper three-step board are under way.
Affected services: They are finished or at a high level of progress.
Works of archaeology: The works were completed at the site of San Cristobal, in Lardero. Archaeological monitoring of the work’s earth-moving works continues as excavations are carried out on the different axes.
Provisional detours: Executed the provisional detour of the A-12, LO-20 and N-232, so that the left roadway of the replacement of the A-12 can be executed.
