The delegate of the Government, Beatriz Arráiz, presented this morning the preliminary project for the construction of the new quarry of Villamediana de Iregua, in La Rioja.
The event was also attended by the president of the Government of La Rioja, Concha Andreu, the mayor of Villamediana, Ana Belén Martínez, the president of the SIEPSE, Mercedes Gallizo and the acting Lieutenant Colonel Chief of the 10th Zone of the Civil Guard in La Rioja Enrique Moure.
The delegate of the Government has counted the details of the preliminary project that will be built in two urban plots of a total of 5,402 square meters that will house two differentiated areas, one of official units and another destined for official housing.
The area of official premises in which the Villamediana Post of Iregua will be located will have a building of 3 floors, basement, lower and first, with a built area of more than 2000 square meters to accommodate the different pendencies of the citizen security service, the Special Group of Underwater Activities -GEAS- and the Fiscal Detachment and Borders.
The area intended for official housing, will be comprised, 6 blocks of homes of 3 or 4 heights, making a total of 20 official homes.
The new facilities will be of functional and efficient construction where durability and easy and reduced maintenance predominate. They will be two independent buildings, one destined to dependencies and another to a pavilion-housing area.
The new quartering will have a total planned investment of 8.9 million euros.
Villamediana post of Iregua
Currently, 24 officers are assigned to the Civil Guard Post in Villamediana de Iregua, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of a population of more than 24,000 people and a territorial extension of 243.67 square kilometers.
Specifically, the demarcation of this Post covers the security of this own municipality of Villamediana de Iregua, as well as of Lardero, Hornillos de Cameros, San Román de Cameros, Terroba, Soto de Cameros, Leza del Río Leza, Ribafrecha, Alberite and Clavijo.
This post belongs to the Company of Logroño, which hosts six other Citizen Security posts located in the towns of Agoncillo, Fuenmayor, Murillo, Nalda, Navarrete and Torrecilla.

The Civil Guard in La Rioja is organized into four Companies, with a total of 25 Citizen Security Posts (1 main and 24 ordinary). The Civil Guard in the province is responsible for the security of 53.1% of the population (169,872 people in 173 municipalities) and 98.7% of the territory (4,965.7-Km2). To serve its entire demarcation, it has units of the Citizen Security Service, USECIC, GEDEX, GEAS, Traffic, Weapons Intervention, Information, Judicial Police, Seprona, Cinological Service, Mountain Service, Fiscal Detachment and Borders, Roca Teams, Teams @ and Viogen Teams, among others.
