Hacienda has transferred in September 331 M€ to Balears for the update of the deliveries on account of 2024

The Autonomous Community will receive 2,769 M€ for this concept this year, which represents 291 M€ more than the previous year

The Ministry of Finance has transferred 331 million euros to Balears during the month of September in order to update the deliveries on account of 2024, contemplated in Royal Decree-Law 4/2024, of 26 June. This money has been paid in two payments; one, made last Friday, for a value of 230 M€ corresponding to the updated amount of the month of September, and another, of 101 M€, previously satisfied, which corresponds to the first eight months of 2024.

The decree approved by the Government at the beginning of summer allows the autonomous communities to receive the resources that correspond to the tax revenue forecasts of the current year, instead of those that were taken as a reference during the preparation of the General State Budgets of 2023. Otherwise, the amounts calculated according to the situation of budgetary extension would have continued to be paid. According to this update, Balears will receive in 2024 a total of 2,769.5 M€ of account deliveries, which is 11.7% more than last year, that is, 291 M€.

The updating of the accounts shows the commitment of the Government to the financial sufficiency of all the territories, which, in this way, have more resources to guarantee the quality in the provision of the public services of the Welfare State that are within its sphere of competence. In 2025, Balears will receive a record funding, already expects to enter, in total, 4,005 M€ of the system. This amount includes €2,986 million in account deliveries – the largest in its history and 7.8% more than in 2024, that is, an additional €216 million – plus the 2023 settlement. Thus, in the seven years of Pedro Sánchez’s government, the islands will have received 60.5% more resources than during the previous seven years, which means 9.108 million euros more.
