A total of 854,250 people will be able to vote in the European elections next Sunday in Balears
A total of 854,250 people registered in the Balearic Islands will be able to vote in the European Parliament elections held this Sunday, June 9. They are 4.2% more than in the call of May 2019, and among them are the 9,336 young people called for the first time to the polls, after having reached the age of majority after the general elections last July.
Of the total number of voters in the European elections in the islands, there are 34,620 people registered in the Electoral Census of Absent Residents (CERA), which has increased by 6,910 since the elections five years ago. As for the Electoral Census of Residents (CER), it has increased by more than 32,000 people since the last elections held in Spain, which were the generals of July 2023. As far as postal voting is concerned, 11,510 applications have been processed for these Europeans.
In total, 1,255 polling stations will be formed in Balears on Sunday, which is 6 more than in the elections of a year ago. The delegate of the Government, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has highlighted the dedication and work developed during the last weeks by the official staff of the General Administration of the State in the archipelago, in order to ensure that the day of elections can be properly developed and the citizens can “exercise their right to vote”. Rodríguez Badal also thanked the participation of the citizens who have been called to join one of the polling stations.
This 9J will be deployed in the archipelago 1,626 agents of the Civil Guard, the National Police and local police of the different municipalities. During the last few weeks, security meetings have been held on each island to organize the security device, with the aim of ensuring maximum coordination of all parties and making it possible for citizens to exercise the vote.
On the other hand, a total of 781 representatives of the administrations will be distributed among the 380 polling stations from which the incidents will be transmitted, if they occur, as well as the provisional data of participation and the scrutiny of the results from the closing of the ballot boxes. Both the website available from Sunday on the link https://resultados.eleccioneseuropeas2024.es, and the mobile application “European Elections 2024”, which can be downloaded from this Saturday on the Android and iOS platforms, will offer complete information on the constitution of the polling stations, the progress of participation at 14:00 and 18:00 hours, and the provisional results, which will be charged from 23:00 hours, in compliance with European regulations.
