Mitma signs an agreement with Balears for the rehabilitation of 158 homes with 2.2 million euros of European funds
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has signed an agreement with the Government of the Balearic Islands and the City Council of Manacor for the rehabilitation in this municipality of 158 homes and their residential environment, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The document has been signed telematically by the general director of Housing and Soil of Mitma, Javier Martín, the general director of Housing and Balearic Architecture, José Francisco Reynés, and the mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver.
This agreement, which includes the rehabilitation of 31 properties of autonomous public ownership of the 158 foreseen, foresees an investment of 3.6 million euros, of which Mitma contributes 2.2 million euros from the European funds NextGenerationEU to finance a first phase.
The Government will directly grant the aid to the Manacor Consistory, given reasons of social and economic interest that make it difficult for it to be publicly convened. In turn, the corporation will publish a call for the granting of this rehabilitation aid to the owners of the homes in the surroundings, according to the criteria established in the same. Finally, the rehabilitation office services will be assumed by the aforementioned local entity.
This agreement is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan’s Neighborhood Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program, which provides for the transfer of up to 2.97 billion euros to autonomous communities and cities in three annuities, to finance this type of intervention in homes, residential buildings and neighborhoods.
