The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, attended today in the IES Val del Asma of Chantada a workshop of regueifas, which aims to publicize the phenomenon of improvised oral poetry in verse, promote discursive tools in order to face daily situations from equality and democratic values, awaken artistic vocations and involve students in cultural heritage, improving their diction and their oratory.
The workshop, directed by the 1st year students of the ESO, was taught by the philologist and regueifeira, Alba María Rodríguez. In it, through improvisation in verse, students analyze the evolution of Spain in the last 50 years, while increasing the knowledge of rhetorical resources, acquiring tools of oral expression and knowing the importance of co-official languages.
There, the subdelegate stressed “the need for the tradition of regueifas, which has come to us since time immemorial, not to be lost in the time we have to live, irreversibly”, and thanked the predisposition of the educational center to participate in the proposal.
This activity will be replicated with students from the IES Terra Chá de Castro de Rey and the IES de Foz, in an action carried out under the impetus of the Government Subdelegation in Lugo and the Commissioner for the Celebration of the 50 years of Spain in freedom.
