- The subdelegate visits the summer camp of the City of Castroverde, which benefits the 80 families of the municipality

The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, today highlighted the Co-responsible Plan of the Ministry of Equality, which finances this year with 1,411,449 euros the work and family conciliation activities in 38 municipalities in the province. He did so during a visit to the Castroverde City Council camp, within the framework of this program, together with the Councillor for Social Services and Equality, María Luisa Freire and the Councillor for Culture and Sport, María Pilar Ferreiro.
In the sports hall A Ferrería, where the activity is carried out, the subdelegate of the Government explained that the City of Castroverde was beneficiary this year of an aid of 31,237 euros from the line for local entities of the Co-responsible Plan, which allows to boost the summer camp, from which 80 families are benefiting. “Thanks to this program, mothers, parents and guardians can reconcile their work and family life with peace of mind during the summer, knowing that their children are well cared for with a very important public service,” he said.
Olimpia López indicated that the Ministry of Equality granted this year to the Autonomous Community of Galicia about 7 million euros within the framework of this Plan to promote conciliation and professional care. “The Government of Spain aims to consolidate care as a right from the perspective of equality between men and women,” he stressed.
In this line, the subdelegate detailed that the Co-responsible Plan began in 2021 and today is consolidated as an axis of equality throughout Spain and specified that “it facilitates the municipalities to do activities and camps without using their own funds.” Since its creation, the Government has allocated more than 54 million euros to Galicia to finance co-responsibility programs and actions.
Co-responsible Plan
The Co-responsible Plan is a government policy aimed, among others, at promoting the reconciliation of families with girls, boys and boys up to the age of 16 from an approach of equality between women and men. The programme is the responsibility of the State Secretariat for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women and is carried out in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities, as the competent authorities for several of its objectives.
