The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, attended this morning the act of replacement of the command of the School of Specialties “Antonio de Escaño” of the Navy, in Ferrol. The captain of Fragata Jaime Boloix Tortosa, replaces in the position the captain of Navío Tomás Lace Scharfhausen.
The change in direction marks the beginning of a new destination for Boloix Tortosa, to which the subdelegate wished the greatest success in her performance as head of the school with the largest number of students of the Spanish Navy. He also thanked Cordon Scharfhausen for the work done in his position.
Jaime Boloix Tortosa (San Fernando, Cádiz). He entered the Naval Military School in 1995 obtaining the office of Alférez de Navío in the year 2000. He holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Studies and possesses the skills of Elementary Diver and Controller LAMPS ATACO, as well as a Master’s Degree in Postgraduate Studies from the University of Barcelona and the Complutense of Madrid.
Throughout his career he was assigned to the frigate “Reina Sofía”, the ship-school “Juan Sebastián de Elcano”, the patrol boat “Cazadora” and the light transport “Contramaestre Casado”.
In addition, its destinations on land include the Navy Observatory, the OAJ of the Rumbo Naval Base, the Command Headquarters of the 41st Escort Squadron, the Plans Section of the EMAD Operations Command and the Secretary of General Staff of the Fleet.
Tomás Lace Scharfhausen, (Madrid). He entered the Naval Military School in 1991 obtaining the office of Alférez de Navío in 1996. Specialist in Anti-Submarine Warfare and Helicopter Controller, he holds a General Staff Diploma from the Higher School of the Armed Forces and a Diploma from the NATO Defence School in Rome. He speaks English and has knowledge of French.
Its destinations on board include the “Navarre” frigate, the “Tagus” dragamine, the “Numancia” frigate and the HRF(M) ALNAV/SPMARFOR headquarters, to which must be added its period as Anti-Submarine Officer in the General Staff of the Permanent Naval Grouping, SNMG2, of NATO. He was commander of the patrol boat “Barceló”, the hunter “Duero” and the oceanographic research vessel “Hespérides”.
On the ground he was assigned to the Naval Military School and the Center of Instruction and Training of the FLEET (CPT-CIA). As a Staff Officer, he held positions in the Logistics Studies Cabinet of the Chief of Logistics Support of the Navy and in the Technical Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Defense. The Captain of Navío Cordon was rewarded with the Cross, the Commission and the Plaque of the Royal and Military Order of San Hermenegildo, with five Crosses to Naval Merit, a Cross to Military Merit as well as several NATO medals.
