The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, received the mayor of Manzaneda, Amiable Fernandez, to address the progress of the Rural Campus program, an initiative of the Government for university students to practice in municipalities of less than 5,000 inhabitants.
The City of Manzaneda hosts a university of Architecture in practice within the program of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) and most public universities.
The mayor and the deputy delegate assured that the measure is a success that helps to fix population in rural areas. They also addressed the Ministry of Equality’s Joint Responsibility Plan, which allows the City of Manzaneda to have a summer camp with 60 boys and girls, facilitating the reconciliation of families, with government funds.
Finally, Eladio Santos congratulated Amiable Fernández because Manzaneda is one of the municipalities of eastern Ourense that have just achieved the declaration of Fiesta of National Tourist Interest for its traditional carnival. "The mayor's management is efficient, with tangible benefits in the daily life of its neighbors, since it is a very active City Council," said the deputy delegate.
