The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, stressed on Monday that the reform of the ground floor of the building that houses the Provincial Directorates of the General Treasury of Social Security and the National Institute of Social Security shows "the commitment of the Government of Spain" to public services and its modernization. This was pronounced during the presentation of the works, awarded for 241,756.6 euros (with taxes).
During the event, in which he was accompanied by the provincial deputy director of Revenue Management, Juan Carlos Blanco, Eladio Santos pointed out that the objective of the renovation is to adapt the administrative space, on the ground floor of the property located in Calle del Ayuntamiento, 1, "to the needs of the present and the future". "The work will allow the modernization of the work spaces, respecting at all times the significant elements of the building, as required by its level of protection," he explained.
The action will include the installation of high-performance acoustic and thermal enclosures, the use of sustainable, recycled and non-polluting materials and the complete reconfiguration of the administrative area. A new pavement will be installed, the ceiling plates will be replaced, new functional divisions will be executed and the space will be painted. "All this is designed to improve the working conditions of the staff and the attention to the public," said the deputy delegate of the Government. These works add to the action that is already being carried out on the first floor of the property for about 40,000 euros to change the windows and improve energy efficiency.
During the six months of the estimated duration of the works, it will be necessary to temporarily transfer the workers of the ground floor to the offices of Celso Emilio Ferreiro Street. For this reason, Santos appreciated the understanding of the employees and users of the registry, who will have to go to the new headquarters from the beginning of the works. He also thanked all the people who worked and will work on this project "that make it possible for this building to remain synonymous with guarantee, closeness and effectiveness".
The deputy delegate said that the Government shows once again that it is the Administration that invests in the city of Ourense, since it always supports major projects, such as the arrival of high speed, the humanization of streets and improvement of mobility, the improvement of road communications, the Archaeological Museum and the San Francisco station, among others.
