The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, confirmed today the overcoming of the emergency episode derived from the interruption of the electricity supply and the recovery of normality in Galicia. He did so before presiding over a meeting to evaluate the management of this emergency, in which the Superior Chief of Police of Galicia, Pedro Pacheco, participated; the Chief General of the 15 Zone of the Civil Guard of Galicia, Miguel Ángel González; the Head of the Civil Protection Unit of the Government Delegation, María Dolores Gómez and the Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Alberto de la Fuente.
The delegate pointed out that the management in Galicia of this emergency was “a true example of cooperation between the Government and the Junta, in permanent contact with President Rueda”. In this collaboration, Pedro Blanco thanked the dedication and effort of the public workers, both of the General Administration of the State and of the private Xunta.En, who had words for the men and women who, from the Government Delegation and from the four Sub-Delegations in the provinces, committed themselves so that the essential public services had not been affected in this time.
The delegate highlighted the absence of incidents of citizen security during the hours that lasted this interruption and transferred his recognition and that of the Government of Spain to the National Police, Civil Guard and local police forces of Galicia who redoubled their presence in the streets and in the rural “so that the day will pass without incidents and carrying out aid work throughout the territory”.
In his appearance in the media, to which he also thanked the public service of information to the citizens that they carried out in these days, Pedro Blanco valued “the maturity and responsibility shown by the Galicians and Galicians” who responded calmly and civicly exemplary to the lack of electricity and communications.
Regarding the next days, the delegate said that “now it’s time to know the causes that caused the interruption of supply” with the objective that “something like this will not happen again”.
