The deputy delegate of the Government, María Rivas, reviewed with representatives of the Immigration Forum the news of the Regulation on Foreigners, which will enter into force on May 20.
The meeting was attended by the director of the Work and Immigration area of the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña, Paloma Retuerta, and the head of the Office of Foreigners of the Subdelegation, Julio Simón, who were responsible for resolving the doubts and attending to the suggestions of the groups represented.
The Galician Immigration Forum was attended by its spokesperson, Miguel Fernández, and the representatives of Acampa, Rubén Sánchez; SOS Racism A Coruña, Alejandra Rodríguez; Galician Network of Support for Refugees, Isabel Rey, and the Human Mobility Association of Ferrol, Soledad Lucero.
The subdelegate stressed that, with this modification, the regulation improves the social and labor integration of migrants, since it clarifies visa procedures, establishes five rooting figures, facilitates family reunification, strengthens the rights of migrant workers and workers while giving guarantees to companies.
