The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the government’s commitment to modernize the Galician business fabric, which receives an average of 90 million euros per month from the Recovery Plan. He did so at the business meeting of the Advisory Council of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Galicia (CEG), together with the assembly of the same and the president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi.
Pedro Blanco stressed the government’s commitment to Galician entrepreneurship, whose activity “is of vital importance for the well-being and progress of Galicia”. Precisely for this reason, the Government nourishes the Galician productive fabric with 80% of the funds of the Recovery Plan that it allocates to Galicia, deepening its alliance with companies “for a future full of opportunities for this land”.
The delegate detailed the government’s investment in Galicia through the Recovery Plan, with 3.7 billion euros since August 2021, “half of them arrived through direct transfers to the Xunta, which has the responsibility of executing them.” To ensure that these funds advance Galicia, Pedro Blanco called for public-private collaboration and institutional loyalty: “These two pillars served so that we already have in Galicia more than 51,000 beneficiaries of aid, 42% of them being microenterprises and SMEs, which demonstrates the capillary nature of these economic contributions.”
Following this line, the delegate encouraged reaching agreements between all representatives of civil society to continue advancing in social conquests and thus "transform Galicia, building a better future for it and turning it into a land of opportunities with capital letters".
In addition, he recalled that the Government works on the approval of the next Budgets, “which will be guarantees of a better Galicia”, and appeals to the responsibility of the different political groups for its approval. The Advisory Council revalidated Juan Manuel Vieites in the presidency of the Galician Business Confederation, for whom the delegate had words of congratulation and encouragement.
Likewise, Pedro Blanco described this appointment as “correct”, since it allows “to continue deepening in his project, started four years ago and with a promising future ahead”.
