The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, together with the government subdelegate in A Coruña, María Rivas, participate in the delivery of the title of ‘Adoptive Children of the city of A Coruña’ to Ibrahima Diack and Magatte Ndiaye. The Senegalese tried to save the life of the Corunnese Samuel Luiz in the early morning of July 3, 2021. The delegate highlighted the courage of the honorees who “did not hesitate to help the Coruñés even at the risk of his life”
Ibrahima and Magatte will be the only Africans to be part of this list, which began in 1868 and currently has a total of 44 names. The Senegalese were recognized as adoptive children in the year 2021 but, themselves, requested to delay the appointment until after the sentence of the crime.
