The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, presented today in Miño the second edition of the program ‘The Administration near you’, which will benefit in the coming weeks about 100,000 inhabitants of 28 small municipalities in the province of Coruña. María Rivas attended the first session of this program in the province at the Social Center of A Rúa, together with the Councilor for Culture, Catalina Morado, and thanked the City Council for its collaboration in order to bring this initiative closer to her citizens.
‘The Administration near you’ was born in 2022, with the help of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, with the aim of facilitating digital procedures in the State Administration for the citizens of smaller municipalities and rural areas. María Rivas stressed the importance of this initiative, which “strengthens territorial cohesion and equal opportunities between urban and rural citizens”. In this regard, he stressed the Government ' s commitment to serving rural municipalities, within the priority policy of the demographic challenge. And he pointed out that initiatives, such as ‘The Administration near you’, “reinforce the presence of the State in the territory and, in particular, in the less populated municipalities.”
Second phase of the project
The second phase of ‘The Administration near you begins today in Miño and will be developed in a total of 28 small town halls in the province of A Coruña: Valdoviño, Aranga, Irixoa, Mesía, Cabana de Bergantiños, Vilasantar, Amor, Curtis, Sobrado, Frades, Oroso, Carnota, Dodro, Trazo, Miño, Vimianzo, Moeche, Mugardos, Cee, Neda, Paderne, San Sadurniño, Muxía, Dumbría, Santiso, As Somozas, Tordoia and Vilarmaior. All these municipalities previously signed with the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña to join the program, with which they collaborate by ceding the spaces in which this initiative will be developed. After today’s session in Miño, the next one will take place this Friday in the Town Hall of Vilarmaior at 11 a.m.
The program consists of practical informative sessions given by staff of the Government Subdelegation in A Coruña, previously trained, and other units, such as the Tax Agency, Traffic and, as a novelty, Social Security. In these sessions, attendees are also processed with the FMNT Digital Certificate and taught how to install it on mobile devices for use in digital relations with the Administration.
Currently, the General Administration of the State offers the possibility of carrying out more of the démarches and communications with its departments digitally. From basic procedures such as benefits, payment of taxes, driving licences, #payment of public taxes, applications for study grants or work life certificates, to the application for subsidies, which in many cases can only be managed telematically.
