The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, presided today a meeting with the mayors of Pontedeume and Cabanas, Bernardo Fernández and Fernando Couce, to analyze the progress of the reform executed by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Ponte de la Ría de Ares, in the N-651 as it passes through these municipalities. This meeting served to advance new measures of information to the citizens, businesses and companies of this area before the beginning of a new phase of execution of the works, the end of next February.
In view of this new phase, the Ministry will initiate face-to-face citizen attention at the construction site and an e-mail address will be set up to receive public inquiries about the progress of the works and any deviations that may be decided. In parallel, regular meetings will be held on the progress of the work, which will also be called to the neighborhood, commercial and business associative fabric of this region. These meetings will serve to agree on the necessary diversions and hobbies to traffic as it progresses to execution.
Today’s meeting, held at the headquarters of the Subdelegation, was also attended by the head of the Demarcation of Roads in Galicia, Ángel González, and the director of the work, Ignacio Ardá; the head of the Promotion Area of the Government Delegation, Ana Quintairos, and the president of the Union of Merchants of Pontedeume, Ana María Calvo.
During it, the progress of the works of reform of the ponte was detailed. In particular, tests of the bridge foundation reinforcement system, which uses the so-called “jet grouting” system to improve the terrain, will be completed this week. The results of these tests will serve to adjust the design of the foundation, which will form the next phase of the work, the end of February, and which will last until the summer.
At the meeting, it was also agreed to strengthen, in order to advance the work, the system of signage at the roadside, with the incorporation of construction signage personnel in the hours of most circulation.
