The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, highlighted the work of the Alumbrar Center, which supports and accompanies some 300 Ourense women victims of sexual exploitation. He did it during a visit this morning to his facilities, where he met his day to day and encouraged the professionals that make up him to continue to deepen his outstanding work. He was accompanied by Congresswoman Marga Martín.
Eladio Santos stressed the capacity for comprehensive care of the Alumbrar Center, promoted by Caritas Diocesana de Ourense, being able to adapt to all the needs of the women they support. “Our 25 years of history managed to establish itself as an engine of solidarity and social dynamization, working together with this Government to improve people’s lives without leaving anyone behind,” said the deputy delegate.
This center achieved the recognition Meninas 2024, granted by the Government Delegation in Galicia the entities or people who fought for equality between men and women, a tribute that the same subdelegate gave them. “Her project is a place of reference for women, where they can find a space of security, tranquility and harmony where to rebuild bonds and create new social support networks, fundamental to start a process of vital change,” said Eladio Santos.
