Abel Losada and the mayor of Ponteareas advance in the solutions for the N-120 and the future variant

Pontevedra, December 4, 2024.- Promoting the communication infrastructures of Ponteareas was the subject of a meeting held this morning in the Subdelegation of the Government between the subdelegate, Abel Losada, and the mayor of Ponteareas, Nava Castro. The meeting, which was held in a climate of total cordiality and collaboration, served to review the agenda of pending works and actions by the Ministry of Transport. For this reason, technicians of the Road Demarcation were present, headed by Ángel del Río and also the councilor of Pontearean Urbanism, Silvia Fernández.
The mayor of Ponteareas promised to convene a plenary session in which she will propose a municipal agreement to request the Ministry to transfer the urban section of the N-120. The position of the Ministry is favorable as long as the continuity of the itinerary is respected, for which it was requested that the section to be ceded coincide with links with the La-52. In this way, it will be, finally, 3.9 Km the stretch that the City of Ponteareas will demand and that, to streamline the file as much as possible, the City Council will request without compensation.
On the other hand, Abel Losada again gave an account of the progress of the previous works for the execution of the work of the N-120 until O Confurco. The project, after completion of the second public exhibition, is finalized and pending final approval by the General Directorate of Roads. “All the previous administrative work for the definition of the route is done with this project and now the tender is missing,” stressed Losada, who added that, the expense of the impact that the expense that is generating the attention to the DAÑA of Valencia can cause, “now, after all the vicissitudes, including a second public exhibition, we can already say that there is a mature project in Madrid.”
Finally, the subdelegate and the technicians of State Roads showed the preliminary project that defines three alternatives for the execution of the Variant of Ponteareas, that is, the road that will connect the La-52 and the N-120. The dossier continues to advance and public information will be submitted for the achievement of the Declaration of Environmental Impact (LA DICE) before proceeding with the drafting of the constructive project.
Losada highlighted the climate of agreements and the willingness to cooperate of the City of Ponteareas and stressed that “there is consensus both with the City Council and with the Platform of the N-120”, so, he added, the Subdelegation of the Government will continue to work to achieve the execution of these projects “all of them of great importance for the future of the County capital”.
