The government delegate in Galicia met today in the Delegation with representatives of the Mare Group, owner of the Royal Monastery of Oia, in which they analyzed the project of transformation of the property, declared Ben of Cultural Interest, into a hotel establishment for tourist use. Xoán Martínez, director of Real Mosteiro, Sarah Barbará, coordinator of the project, and Carlos Pérez attended the meeting.
The delegate was interested in the project to recover the monastery, the only one of the Order of the Cister next to the Ocean and located on the route of the Portuguese Way of the Coast. He valued the relevance of this initiative for the region of Bajo Miño and pledged to transfer it to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
