The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, made this morning an institutional visit to the City of Sandiás to know, with the help of his councilor, Felipe Traveso, the situation and needs of the municipality.
One of the issues addressed was the aid package granted in October by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) corresponding to the first call for grants from the PERTE (Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation) for digitization of the water cycle, which are part of the Government Recovery Plan. Among the beneficiaries of them is the Community of Regantes of Antela, to which belong many of those of Sandiás and which will receive more than 183,000 euros.
In addition, they spoke about the regional project launched by the City Council and the CDR O Viso in order to stop the depopulation of the area. Which, with the funding of MITECO, is to connect families interested in residing in rural areas with people who own houses or businesses available to rent or sell. An initiative that Eladio Santos valued very positively.
In fact, along the same lines, the subdelegate informed Traveso of various government plans aimed at the rehabilitation of rural housing and the possibility of establishing rental programs for young people. They also reviewed the activities of the City Council organized thanks to the corresponding contribution to the State Pact Against Gender Violence.
Among the demands exposed by the mayor were the installation of a roundabout in the center of the municipality and the improvement of the safety of pedestrian traffic in the center of the same. Petitions that were collected by the subdelegate of the Government.
