The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, visited this morning to the headquarters of the Labor University of the capital where he valued the I Plan for the Modernization of Vocational Training launched by the Ministry of Education and through which more than 130 million euros will be allocated to the different autonomous communities to continue unwinding, for the fourth consecutive year, actions aimed at the consolidation of the new VET system promoted by the Government.
Specifically, Galicia will receive within this project 18´8 million euros, which will be allocated to the creation of 2,580 new FP places (4,837,500 euros), 3,750 bilingual places (10,125,000 euros), accreditation of competences (1,963,440 euros) and 35 applied technology classrooms (1,925,000 euros).
In addition, during the visit, Santos highlighted the existing formative collaboration with the Civil Guard and the National Police through the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers, with the uniqueness of having their advice in the drone cycle, which is taught at the Labor University of Ourense.
PROA Programme
The subdelegate also addressed the implementation of the Territorial Cooperation Program for Educational Orientation, Advancement and Enrichment in Centers of Special Educational Complexity (PROA+), which is applied in centers and municipalities throughout the community in the search for digital literacy of the population with greater difficulties, within which the Government allocated 5,966,562 euros to Galicia this year, reaching a total investment of more than € 58M throughout Spain since the implementation of this program in 2022.
This initiative is based on the idea of improving the quality of education, promoting inclusive and accessible training systems for all people, ensuring non-discrimination and segregation, and reducing school dropout levels.
