The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, visited the headquarters of the Business Association of Freight Transport by Estrada de Galicia (APETAMCOR) to discuss with his representatives various topics of interest for the sector.
Among the issues addressed were subsidies granted for the modernization of private passenger transport and road freight companies, included in the framework of the Government’s Recovery Plan. This aid will allow beneficiaries to install second generation tachographs, which will be compulsory for international transport from 1 January 2025. And they also commented on the help lines for the construction and renovation of the vehicle park. In this sense, the association considers that this type of initiatives are “very beneficial for the sector”.
For his part, the subdelegate took advantage of the meeting to provide information on the necessary procedures for the request for the installation of security cameras in truck parking areas located in various points of the province, in response to a previous request from APETAMCOR.
In addition, the association transferred to Santos its demand for greater contact between the different public administrations, which allows to speed up, among others, the necessary procedures to proceed to the hiring of foreign drivers and mechanics. However, from this group they highlighted the good functioning and the help always provided by the Office of Foreigners of the Subdelegation of the Government in Ourense.
