The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, paid a visit to the Simba Library in Negreira, to encourage the boys and girls born in 2006 to take advantage of these last days to be able to apply for the Young Cultural Bonus and thus be able to have 400 euros for the acquisition of cultural products.
The mayor of the town, Manuel Ángel Leis, together with the Deputy Mayor, Teresa Duro Leis, accompanied the visit to the subdelegate.
The deadline for the application of the Young Cultural Voucher ENDS October 31, so “there are 5 days left for young people and boys who reach the age of 18 in this 2024 to be able to get out through the web page enabled for this purpose, although then they have a whole year to consume it in the different modalities that are contemplated.”
In this call, there are 8,985 people from the province of A Coruña who could get their bonus, which would mean an investment in cultural products of 3,594,000 euros. The applications presented in the first semester reached almost 30% of the possible beneficiaries, for which the subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña encouraged the youth to take advantage of these last 5 days to get their Bonus.
María Rivas stressed that in this third edition there are many more affiliated establishments such as this Simba bookstore, specifically there are 115 in the province and 283 in all of Galicia, which makes the Cultural Bond also have a very positive impact on local trade and cultural industries.
3 stages and 400 euros available
The Young Cultural Voucher is provided with 400 euros that are divided into 3 sections to promote access to various cultural expressions:
• 100 euros para productos culturales en soporte físico como libros, cómics, revistas, prensa o discos.
• 100 euros for digital consumptions such as subscriptions to music platforms, digital press, audiobooks, download of podcast or online video games.
• 200 euros for performing arts such as theater, opera, cinema, dance or museums, among others.
Balance of previous calls
In the province of A Coruña there were 6,474 boys and girls who got their Bonus, 66% of the 8,816 potential consumers. “6,474 young people and girls who thanks to the Young Cultural Bonus have a balance of 400 euros their willingness for a whole year to go to the cinema, to the theater, to concerts, to festivals, buy books, records and even make use of online video games. 400 euros that go a long way,” said María Rivas.
In Galicia it reached 15,339 people out of the 23,149 nadas in 2005, leaving an investment of more than 6 M€
In its first edition, in the year 2022, the Xove Cultural Voucher injected 1.9 million euros into the cultural industries and shops of the Galician Community through the 50,000 sales operations that were made under its charge. In total, one in two people with full rights to this bonus benefited from it in 2022.
Just for that reason, the Government’s subdelegate in A Coruña wanted to encourage the 8,985 Coruñeses and Coruñesas who turn 18 in 2024 to get the Bonus. “The Government of Spain wants this direct aid of 400 euros to reach all young people, especially the one that may have the most difficulties in their environment to access cultural products and #experience”.
