The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, attended this morning in A Rúa the second workshop of personal defense directed to victims of gender violence organized by the Subdelegation of Ourense in collaboration with the State Security Forces and Bodies.
The cycle includes a total of five workshops taught by specialized agents of the Civil Guard and the National Police, with the aim of allowing participants to learn basic techniques of prevention and self-defense in order to free themselves and be able to escape an attempt at male aggression.
Today’s event took place in the municipal facilities of the old school Nuestra Señora de Fátima de A Rúa, and in it were also present Lieutenant Paul López and Captain Ramiro González of the Post of the Civil Guard of A Rúa, as well as the mayor of the municipality, María González Albert.
The following will be in Celanova, Verín and Ourense capital, in order to facilitate the assistance of as many victims as possible. This is an initiative of vital importance given the current figures of gender violence in our country, as reflected in the 543 active cases that exist today in the province of Ourense in the Viogén System.
