Vigo, September 25, 2024.- The deputy delegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, presided this morning at the last coordination meeting of the security and traffic device on the occasion of the Conxemar fair, which will be held on October 1, 2 and 3, and which these days hastens the assembly and installation of the stands and other infrastructures. As a main novelty, it was agreed to strengthen the signage and control by Conxemar personnel, with more human resources, in coordination with the Civil Traffic Guard, in the roundabouts of access to the fairground, both from 08.00 hours for the access of the exhibitors, and from 10.00 hours for the entrance of the public.
At the meeting, all the details of the operation were fixed, improving the one implemented last year, when already equis managed to avoid, to a large extent, the circulatory collapses that occurred in previous editions. Thus, the closure of the access 157 to the AP-9 from the Avenida del Tranvía and the conversion of this street in a single direction make up the axis of the traffic plan. In this edition, the hours of partial closure and change of direction of the aforementioned avenue will be extended with respect to the edition of 2023, extending this measure from 07.30 hours to 14.30 hours during the three days of the fair. On the other hand, the exit 157 of the AP-9 will be closed to transports that exceed 3,500 kilos, so they must use alternative routes.
In addition, Audasa will open the branch that connects the exit of the AP-9 with the Peinador car park, where there will be 1,000 parking spaces available in two stalls reserved for the public of Conxemar.
As already anticipated at the coordination meeting in July, parking will be free at IFEVI during the three days of the fair and not only during the first two days, as was the case in previous years. ç
Access to the exhibition grounds for exhibitors will also be speeded up with the reading of QR codes through the laser gun system that will replace physical identification, and it is hoped that this measure will also contribute to the speeding up of access first thing in the morning.
On the other hand, the meeting agreed on the strengthening of private security at the event, which will be coordinated with the National Police to ensure the safety of the attendees in an edition that will once again be multitudinous and that will have, for the inaugural day with the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Luis Planas.
The meeting was attended by all the agents involved in the event, such as the management of IFEVI and the fair itself, the Traffic subsector of the Civil Guard, the National Police, the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, Audasa, the Ministry of Transport, AENA and the local police of Vigo and Mos.
