The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas reports the publication of the BOE by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the new contract for the conservation and exploitation of roads and minor works, with an allocation of 11,092,912.57 euros and which will act, among other areas, on the main access roads to A Coruña and Ferrol.
The deputy delegate stressed the Government’s commitment to ensure the mobility of people and goods throughout the State Road Network, a commitment that materializes through the maintenance of existing infrastructures with maintenance contracts such as the one initiated this week.
The subdelegate highlighted the commitment through the financial allocation of these maintenance contracts for conservation and exploitation, remembering that Galicia was the Community that achieved the highest value in the latest tenders.
This maintenance contract includes action on the N-550 in the municipal terms of Coruña, Culleredo, Cambre, Carral, Ordes, Oroso and Santiago. In the AC-12 and the AC-11 of access to the Coruña
Performances are also contemplated in the N-651 as it passes through Betanzos, Paderne, Miño, Pontedeume, Cabanas and Fene.
The contract also includes access to Ferrol from Narón and Fene through the FE-11, the FE-12, FE-13 and FE,14.
This new contract has an initial duration of three years, they are part of the maintenance program of the State Road Network to guarantee the conditions of circulation, road and safety. In it, actions such as accident monitoring and attention, winter road, tunnel control and communications service or the maintenance of facilities are included.
This tender for more than 10 million euros, aims to continue with the investments of the State in Galicia and in the province, in which it covers the maintenance of the entire road network giving priority also to improvements in security.
In this regard, María Rivas stressed that the specifications of the contract also include conditions to promote the improvement of energy efficiency and the reduction of emissions, which is part of the Ministry's program to maintain the conditions of circulation and the road and safety of the roads, but also ensuring the ideal conditions of accessibility for all citizens.
María Rivas wanted to highlight as an important factor the commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, since within the strategy of reducing emissions, the tender documents of the conservation and exploitation contracts (COEX) of the State Road Network include objectives of mitigation and compensation of the carbon footprint, which means that companies must include in their offers the calculation of the carbon footprint that they will generate during the execution of the contract in each stretch of the road
