The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, received today the new head of the Unit of Violence on Women, the sub-inspector of the National Police, María José Rodríguez.
At this first meeting, in which personnel from the Government Subdelegation were also present, the subdelegate welcomed the responsible news, with which he set the new objectives of this service. María José Rodríguez comes to replace Manuela Vilaboy, whom the subdelegate thanked for her performance and work.
Abel Losada was very satisfied with this new incorporation that “provides the National Police, has extensive experience and will be a fundamental part of the VioGén system in the province, of which 17 municipalities are part”. In addition, as head of the Women’s Violence Unit of the Subdelegation, he will monitor the #state resources and services in the prevention and fight against gender violence, in coordination with the different administrations.
The subdelegate stressed the total commitment “of this Subdelegation and the Government of Spain in the fight against violence against women” and recalled that the 61 municipalities of the province received this year almost 600,000 euros from the funds of the State Pact, which represents a 52% increase with respect to that invested by the former executive.
