Pontevedra, August 23, 2024.- The deputy delegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, today fired the Colonel, Simón Venzal, head of the Command of the Civil Guard in Pontevedra, who on August 26 will leave the command when passing to the reserve. Abel Losada received him in the Subdelegation to convey his “total gratitude” for his work at the head of the Civil Guard of the province in the last five years. I do not find he highlighted “the total collaboration always offered by the colonel, his vocation for public service and his professionalism”, wishing him “the best” in this new stage.
Thus, he extolled his work under the command of the Civil Guard “from the ethical commitment, to guarantee the safety of all and all without any discrimination due to nationality, race, sex, gender or sexual orientation.” At the same time, he advocated security “as an increasingly important element of social and political economic value in a changing world in which threats are increasingly changing and global.”
The deputy delegate reviewed with the colonel his five years of service at the head of the Pontevedra Civil Guard, which were marked by the pandemic and the fight against drug trafficking. Abel Losada highlighted “the geographical and population dispersion of the demarcation area of the Pontevedra Civil Guard Command”, which conditions the daily work of the Security Corps in the province and requires full coordination with municipalities, institutions and other police forces. “This reality,” he said, “gives greater merit to the excellent results achieved.”
