Pontevedra, August 21, 2024.- The deputy delegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, co-presidiu this morning together with the mayor, #Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores, the Local Security Xunta of Pontevedra in which the security devices for the U20 World Championship of Olympic Fights were coordinated, which will take place from September 2 to 8 .
The meeting was also attended by the president of the Galician Federation of Struggle, José Luis Olazábal, the head of the Traffic subsector of Pontevedra, Antonio Pérez Piteira, the commissioner of Vigo-Redonda, Ramiro Gómez, and the head of the Local Police, among others.
Abel Losada stressed the “total willingness” to collaborate with the City Council from the Subdelegation and from the State Security Forces and Bodies to, in a coordinated way with the Local Police and municipal services, establish the necessary security devices for a sporting event that will gather almost 1,500 participants and that, in addition, will coincide with the Fair Franca, so an enormous influx of public and visitors to the city is expected throughout the week.
“From the Subdelegation we offer the maximum availability to try to guarantee security in Pontevedra during a week in which two of the main annual events of a festive and sporting nature are held,” said the subdelegate.
The mayor, #Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores, recalled that Pontevedra is a reference in the celebration of this type of appointment and that it has extensive experience so that everything “goes how it should go”, through good coordination between administrations and security bodies, “as has been done for several years in all international events.” “Today’s meeting was fundamentally technical and we all agreed on the goal of working together, working together and working as efficiently as possible.”
