The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, went to Cee to visit, together with Mayor Margarita Lamela, the actions of the project of transformation of the municipal market, which has an investment of 1,057,979.36 euros from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. The grant represents 80% of the total project (amounting to 1,322,474.19 euros). It is part of the call for aid for the promotion of sustainable urban markets, one of the trade support lines implemented by the Ministry of Industry within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The actions contemplate a comprehensive reform of the municipal market framed in the "AMACEE" project that will be completed in December. The project includes the creation of a web platform and an APP, as well as training and promotion campaigns for trade and the Camino de Santiago.
The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña and the mayor, agreed to underline that this project will be a revulsive for local commerce and for other sectors of the town. In this regard, they recalled that the project also includes the creation of a gastronomic space, exhibition and craft areas and also a rest and promotion area of the Camino de Santiago.
Both recalled that this project contemplates the improvement of the thermal envelope of the building as well as the sound insulation. The new facilities will be equipped with a new more efficient lighting system and will also have photovoltaic panels. So “we are talking about a new building more efficient and with lower energy consumption, which will mean the corresponding economic savings on the bill but above all it will be more sustainable, in which there will also be more natural lighting and better integration in the environment”.
Finally, they pointed out as another very important aspect the improvement in access to the new market, both for users and professionals since the loading and unloading areas of goods will also be remodeled.
The deputy delegate expressed her satisfaction “since I know that with this action, a work demanded by the neighborhood is served that also allows the revitalization of trade, tourism which will undoubtedly help to improve the economic dynamism of Cee”.
The subdelegate wanted to express her commitment and total support of the Government with the City of Cee, as materialized with this action in the municipal market but which is also expressed in other investments such as in the high-tech equipment in the National Health System worth 395,000€; the actions to improve energy efficiency and renovation of public lighting through the IDAE worth 1,794,360.52€; the commitment to equality and the fight against gender violence through the funds of the VioGen State Pact with 4,879.85 € for this year 2024, or the more than 25,000€ of the single broadband plan. “In short, more than 3,827,000 euros of investments by the State in the city of Cee, which demonstrates the commitment of the Government to improve the lives of neighbors and neighbors in a transversal way in all areas,” said Rivas.
Local Security Board
The visit to Cee also served to coordinate security in the next Festivities of the Xunqueira, which are held in the municipality between the 13th and the 17th of this month. In this sense, Rivas stressed the “total willingness” to collaborate with the City Council from the Subdelegation and from the State Security Forces and Corps to contribute to the celebration of these festivities with security and tranquility “so that the thousands of people who come here year after year can enjoy these festivities with intensity”.
